Cessna Jean! Cessna, CJ, CJ Sassypants, the puppy that proved I married the right man. When I declared I was keeping Gypsy, Ben decided he was keeping an Orvis puppy, too. So, he flew out to Iowa to meet the Orvis/Ember pups bred by Cody and Alli Engebretson, and brought this sassy little wrinkle faced puppy home. And my goodness do we love her!
Cessna joined the pack as an honorary Wee Beastie and acclimated quickly. She has the most spectacular forehead wrinkles, matched by her nonstop wagging tail and cricket hopping goofy temperament around the house. She is our resident shoe thief, but luckily prefers carrying and hiding her contraband, rather than destroying. She even has a stash of her stolen keepsakes behind a particular couch cushion that we have to raid from time to time She keeps us on our toes with her bouts of innocent-until-proven-guilty mischief, and is always putting a smile on our faces.
In the field, Cessna is a powerhouse. With a future as a strong Shooting Dog and potential All-Age dog, this girl is EXCITING to watch. She is the most naturally forward dog I’ve had the pleasure of raising and running. She is smart on the ground, fast and powerful, with a ground shaking gait that makes you watch her. She has spectacular style on point, and is naturally steady, letting us flush most of her birds as a pipsqueak. She is a retrieving fool and was retrieving mallards and rooster pheasants, that were almost as big as her, at 12 weeks old. Cessna has had a successful juvenile career, earning her Puppy points and solid placements in each stake that she has ran in. In the show ring, Cessna is confident and that power in the field transforms into a flawlessly powerful, eye catching, gait around the ring. She is working on her CH and has earned several Reserves to Majors and has her first 5 points to her credit before she was a year old. Back in the ring a few months later, she earned her first Major by going Best of Winners at the Trails End Vizsla Club Specialty Show! She's well on her way to becoming another generation of Dual Champions!
